With the Cincinnati Bengals dealing with multiple injuries along their offensive line, there was a push from some fans for the franchise to bring former Cincy offensive lineman Andrew Whitworth back for the playoffs.

Whitworth, who played for the Bengals from 2006 to 2016, spent the last five seasons with the Los Angeles Rams before retiring after the 2021 season.

No deal ever materialized between Whitworth and the Bengals, which looks like the right call by Cincinnati.

Whitworth, in fact, agrees.

“And y’all thought the Bengals needed my old butt???” tweeted Whitworth during the first half of Cincinnati’s game against the Buffalo Bills.

“Put some respect on these men names!!! I see you big fellas!!!!”

Whitworth was a great player for the Bengals and the Rams. But he hasn’t played since the end of last season. And he hasn’t been preparing to play. I’m not sure how much signing a 41-year-old who isn’t in football shape would’ve helped Cincinnati in the playoffs.
