The Cincinnati Bengals could not have asked for better news on Tuesday.
La’el Collins – the team’s biggest signing in free agency – has been cleared to practice for the first time in training camp.

And with that, the three offensive line free agent additions are ready to go. As Joe Burrow’s return nears, consider that perfect timing for the Bengals.
Heading into training camp, La’el Collins was placed on the non-football injury list with what was described as a “back issue.” Perhaps more details will be revealed later to clear the air on many speculations surrounding the offensive line.
When the Bengals’ new offensive tackle was ruled out for the start of training camp, Dallas Cowboys-based media immediately speculated on the reasons behind the news. After all, the front office in Dallas was reportedly frustrated with his “lack of professionalism.”
Of course, this could be about a completely different thing. Injuries happen in the NFL and La’el Collins has been doing this since 2015 now.
At the end of the day, what matters is he’s coming back. And make no mistake about it, when he’s healthy, La’el is one of the best right tackles in the game.
While Ted Karras and Alex Cappa were solid signings, this is the news the Cincinnati Bengals needed.
