Two guys talking football. There’s something special about that, as Cincinnati Bengals and NFL fans know.

A tradition as old as the game itself, we’ve all done it, whether in front of the TV while sitting on the couch, on the sidelines at a local practice, or from the bleachers watching an NFL game.

But there are levels to “two guys talking football.” And Bengals fans will be excited to hear they’ll be getting a glimpse at two of their favorite wide receivers breaking down film.

Bengals legend Chad Johnson teased on Saturday that he’ll be in camp on Monday. Turns out, he’s there to talk with one of Cincinnati’s biggest stars.

Emily Parker, Director of Communications for the Bengals, revealed Ocho Cinco will be talking to Ja’Marr Chase for an NFL Generations Film Session.

The series features franchise legends breaking down some tape with current stars around the NFL. Last year, it was Bengals’ icon Boomer Esiason talking ball with Joe Burrow. You can watch the eight-minute breakdown on NFL Throwback here.

Editions for other teams have featured combos like Ryan Tannehill-Warren Moon, Lamar Jackson-Michael Vick, and Travis Kelce-Tony Gonzalez.

But undoubtedly, the pairs that wore the same uniforms tend to be the most special. What better Bengals player to couple with Ja’Marr Chase than Chad Johnson?

Johnson’s charisma and football knowledge will likely make for some interesting tidbits of insight into Chase’s game. The young wide receiver has positioned himself among the NFL’s very best at the position and could solidify himself into elite status in 2022.

It’s fair to say Zac Taylor’s offense in Cincinnati features him in a relatively simple scheme (as revealed by A to Z Sports Film Room’s breakdown on Burrow). That’s unlikely to change next season and, frankly? We’re here for it if it means Chase making play after play.

We’ll keep you updated on this conversation as soon as it’s released by the NFL.
