Don’t expect to see Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow filling your social media feed with photos or videos anytime soon.

Burrow said on Wednesday that he deleted the Instagram and Twitter apps from his phone after the Bengals got off to an 0-2 start this season.

That’s probably not a bad idea.

I seriously doubt that Twitter or Instagram have a single thing to do with Cincinnati’s 0-2 start.

But right now, Burrow and the Bengals need to have all of their attention on turning the season around before they bury themselves in a hole that’s too deep to climb out of.

Avoiding social media — and the unhealthy distraction it creates — is a smart move by the third-year quarterback. The last thing he needs to be doing right now is filling his mind with negativity, which is the bulk of most folks’ experiences with social media.

Burrow, as usual, is showing that he’s mature beyond his years.
