Trent Taylor only played in four games for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2021, catching two passes for 41 yards.

Taylor has totaled 81 receptions for 772 yards and three touchdowns over his four-year NFL career.

That’s basically half a season for his teammate, wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase.

Taylor, however, isn’t letting the discrepancy in production between him and Chase stop him from talking a little (friendly) trash to the second-year Bengals wide receiver.

On Wednesday, Taylor quoted a tweet that showed that he had 26 more receiving yards during his best year at Louisiana Tech than Chase had during his best year at LSU.

“Numbers don’t lie,” tweeted Taylor.

Obviously, this is all in good fun. Taylor was a tremendous wide receiver at the collegiate level, but he hasn’t been able to recreate that production in the NFL.

Chase, on the other hand, looked like a future Hall of Famer as a rookie. There’s no question that Chase is one of the best players in the entire NFL after what we saw last season.

Taylor, meanwhile, is the No. 4 or No. 5 wide receiver on the Bengals’ depth chart. But at least he has a good sense of humor when it comes to being a slightly used veteran wide receiver.
