Cincinnati Bengals running back Joe Mixon made a statement on Wednesday that should have the Kansas City Chiefs a bit nervous.

The Bengals will travel to Kansas City this weekend to take on the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game. It’s the second straight season that the two teams have met for a chance to play in the Super Bowl. Cincinnati, of course, won last year’s matchup.

Kansas City won’t have the benefit of a fully healthy Patrick Mahomes due to his high ankle sprain.

Mahomes looked mobile in the clips we saw of him practicing on Wednesday, but he’s nowhere close to 100 percent, which obviously works to Cincinnati’s advantage.

That alone should make the Chiefs anxious about this game.

And so should Mixon’s words on Wednesday.

“I can just look in everybody’s eyes right now and I can just sense, like, my dogs are ready,” said Mixon. “Just look around in the locker room and you just know that them boys is ready. And I feel like right now we’re more ready than ever to seize this opportunity.”

This Bengals team is absolutely locked in right now. And while the Chiefs are trying to figure out how to game plan around a hobbled Mahomes, Cincinnati is firing on all cylinders and ready to head to Arrowhead (Burrowhead?) and beat the Chiefs in the AFC Championship game for the second straight year.
