Dak Prescott has had no shortage of spectacular moments since first putting on the Dallas Cowboys uniform back in 2016.
From bursting onto the scene in the preseason to taking over the starting gig to emerging as one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, it is clear that Dak Prescott is a superstar. Prescott just recently inked a hefty contract extension this offseason. There are a lot of expectations surrounding the quarterback for 2021.
Naturally, we decided to rank the five best Dak Prescott moments to this point in his young career. These moments include specific plays, games, and overall performances. It was difficult narrowing the list down to just five, but here is what we came up with:
5. PRESCOTT VERSUS THE VIKINGS IN 2019
Dak Prescott was magnificent against the Vikings in 2019. He was hitting on all cylinders, was finding his receivers all over the field, and was in total command of the offense from start to finish. His stat line for the game was 28 for 46, 397 yards passing and three touchdowns.
The Cowboys fell to the Vikings 28 to 24, but Prescott starred in the contest.
4. COWBOYS KNOCK OFF STEELERS IN 2016
Cowboys-Steelers is always must-watch. The two teams have played in big games over the years. One of the more entertaining games of the rivalry’s recent history came in 2016, Dak’s rookie season.
Both Dallas and Pittsburgh were considered to be legitimate Super Bowl contenders. The Cowboys were led by Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott. The Steelers were led by Ben Roethlisberger, Le’Veon Bell, and Antonio Brown. To no surprise, the game went down to the wire.
The Cowboys pulled out the 35-30 thrilling victory. Dak Prescott’s touchdown throw to Dez Bryant was one of the defining moments of the game.

3. GAME-WINNING THROW TO COLE BEASLEY IN 2018
Perhaps the best singular play of Dak Prescott’s career to this point was his brilliant touchdown toss to Cole Beasley against the New York Giants in 2018. The Cowboys were down by seven in the final moments and were facing a fourth-and-long situation.
Prescott took matters into his own hands.
Prescott rolled out to evade the rush, adjusted his body, and threw a missle to the back of the end zone. Beasley came down with the catch, and Dallas then converted a two-point conversion to win the game.
That throw never gets old to watch.
2. PRESEASON PERFORMANCE AGAINST LA RAMS
The first preseason game of the 2016 Cowboys season was when the majority of the NFL world was introduced to Dak Prescott. The Cowboys were taking on the Rams in Los Angeles and rookie fourth-rounder Dak Prescott was set to start.
It was expected to be another meaningless exbition, but it turned out to have much more value. Prescott wowed from the very first play of the game and went to take the preseason by storm. He made incredible throws and looked like a seasoned vet.
Many expected Prescott to fall back down to earth so to speak, but that never happened. Instead, with Tony Romo going down with an injury two weeks later, Prescott cemented himself as the Cowboys starter and never looked back.
It’s crazy to think that Prescott was once listed behind Kellen Moore on the depth chart and in a real competition battle with Jameill Showers.

1. PLAYOFF VICTORY OVER RUSSELL WILSON AND SEAHAWKS
This was the obvious pick for the top spot: Dak’s first career playoff win. The game had so many big moments. The touchdown throw to Michael Gallup in the corner of the end zone. Battling Russell Wilson on the postseason stage. Willing his team to a gritty victory.
The moment of the game was undoubtedly Prescott’s run in the fourth quarter to ultimately seal the victory. Prescott turned a 3rd-and-14 draw into a first and goal at the one-yard line. Prescott nearly scored the touchdown and AT&T Stadium erupted.
It is hard to argue against that being at the top of the best Dak Prescott moments so far. There will certainly be more plays and more moments to add to the list over the upcoming seasons.
