The Dallas Cowboys will square off against the undefeated Carolina Panthers in Week 4. Panthers HC Matt Rhule had no shortage of kind words for Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott in the week leading up to the matchup. Dak is certainly impressing Rhule with what he has done so far this season.

Rhule mentions Prescott’s impressive decisiveness as well as his pre-play protection calls at the forefront of his comments. It’s a fair assessment too. Prescott is playing like a ten-year veteran in OC Kellen Moore’s offense right now.
Prescott is taking full advantage of his plethora of weapons, and he and the offense have also overcome some injuries on the offensive line. Rhule also points out that the talent of Dak is physical and mental. His combo is one of the most elite in the NFL.
Panthers head coach Matt Rhule on QB Dak Prescott: “I think he’s playing such elite-level football, both with his arm but also with his mind…highest level of mastery of this offense…he’s playing chess out there.”

Pocket awareness is an aspect of Prescott’s game that may be one of the biggest improvements of all. Throughout college, it was not a strong point, but his mobility got him out of some tough situations. In the pros, he has learned how to survive pressure to make plays downfield or get the ball out on a check down. It shows up multiple times every single week.
Dak has also cut down on unnecessary negative plays. That may be a part of the scheme from Kellen Moore, too. Many parts of it are less stagnant than prior game plans from Jason Garrett and company.
The trust in Dak is so evident when watching the current Cowboys offense.
