The Denver Broncos have some competition in their head coaching search, as we have seen so far this offseason. There are several teams also looking for a head coach, but there is one in particular that is also going after the same guy as the Broncos.

The Indianapolis Colts were coached by former center Jeff Saturday for the second half of the season, and that obviously didn’t work. Now they are looking for the next guy to lead their franchise for the next few years.

The Colts submitted a request to interview 49ers defensive coordinator DeMeco Ryans for their head coach position, per Adam Schefter of ESPN.

Ryans is a guy the Broncos love, as he will start his interview for the team on Thursday. He is a very highly touted prospect when it comes to head coaching. I mean, he does come from the Shanahan tree.

Ryans is what the Broncos need, as he is a guy who could really take the defense to a whole other level. Just look at the defense he coached this year in San Francisco.

The Colts could also use a guy like him, though. In fact, they may need a defensive-minded guy more than the Broncos, as Denver needs someone to improve the offense.

The Colts’ job may be a bit more enticing due to roster, salary situation, and draft capital.

Either way, both sides like him, and both will have a battle for him if that’s the guy they want to improve their franchise.
