The Denver Broncos coaching search has been somewhat of a rollercoaster.
First, we all thought Jim Harbaugh would be a legitimate candidate, then he is the first to drop out, and announce he is going back to coach college.
Now, everything we are hearing is that former Saints head coach Sean Payton is the guy. However, the betting odds say differently.
According to DraftKings.com, Dan Quinn, the Dallas Cowboys defensive coordinator, has the best odds to become the Broncos’ next head coach at +150, with Payton in second at +225.
There is no telling who will be the head coach of the Denver Broncos next, but we still have some time until that decision is made. The Broncos have four interviews this week alone.
Quinn has been pretty amazing as a defensive coordinator since getting fired as the Atlanta Falcons’ head coach. In Atlanta, he didn’t have near the resources he would have in Denver. Well, towards the end of his tenure as the Falcons’ head coach, that is.
I can see Quinn being the guy for Denver. Would that be my pick – absolutely not. I think the Broncos need an offensive-minded guy to help fix Russell Wilson, as the defense doesn’t have an issue.
But, I don’t think he would be a bad coach. He would definitely be better than Nathaniel Hackett. If they can’t land Payton, hopefully, the odds are right about Quinn.
