The Denver Broncos may not be looking the way we all thought they would, but they are still 2-1, and have one of the best defenses in the league, if not the best.

They have shut down every opponent they have played thus far. They allowed just one touchdown last week against the 49ers, even though after reviewing it was apparent the score shouldn’t have counted.

The two teams before the San Francisco 49ers were locked down, too. The Houston Texans scored only nine while the Seattle Seahawks scored just 17. The Broncos defense is allowing just 12 points per game so far this year.

However, the offense can’t really say the same, as they are struggling mightily. Even in the wins, it seems as if they are almost non-existent.

If there was one thing we could rely on, though, it’s that Courtland Sutton will dominate whoever he is playing. He is off to a great start in the 2022 season, despite the challenges the offense is throwing him.

“I think Courtland Sutton is a rock star, man,” Wilson told reporters on Wednesday. “This guy is special, just how he goes and attacks the football, how he makes plays and how he is so focused in the meetings, and how he leads guys.

“He’s great in the weight room. This guy is doing everything he can just to be phenomenal, and he already is. The sky is the limit for him, he has so much capability. I think people need to know who Courtland Sutton is and they are starting to really recognize how special he is.”

Sutton is looking like the playmaker many hoped he’d become before he tore up his knee in 2020. He currently has the fifth-most receiving yards in the NFL after Week 3 (291) and he currently has 19 receptions, which is tied for 14th. And he’s pulled this off while registering the 18th-most targets.

So, it is fair to say that with the volume he is getting, he is definitely producing. Sutton is tied second in the league for big plays, a catch of at least 20 yards, with five.

It seems as if the only success the offense is having through the air is coming by way of Sutton, who is dominating whoever is across from him.

The Broncos have problems to fix on that side of the ball, yes, but Sutton is making things a lot easier for Wilson. He is showing that he is one of the best receivers in the league, even in what appears to be a bad offense.
