The Denver Broncos just took the next step with one of their biggest head coaching candidates.

By this point, the process of finding the next guy to lead their team and attempt to fix Russell Wilson will be sped up. The Broncos won’t have a ton of time, because they will need to start getting their offseason plans together with their new head coach.

So, they will be taking the next step with who I feel is who everyone wants to be hired for the job. Former New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton is getting a second interview on Wednesday this week, according to Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com.

This is big because, as far as we know, unless something hasn’t been reported yet, the Broncos haven’t given a second interview to any candidate, yet.

Payton is the guy most qualified to turn a franchise around, as he did in New Orleans, and he is qualified to fix a quarterback as he did with Drew Brees.

Hopefully, the interview goes well, and the two sides can start negotiating what a potential trade will look like.
