Denver Broncos running back Melvin Gordon is currently dealing with a foot injury that’s caused him to miss some practice time recently.

The injury isn’t considered serious, but it’s unsurprisingly led to some speculation about Gordon’s status moving forward.

On Saturday, before the Broncos’ preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys, Gordon was spotted warming up with what looked like a pad on his shin.

KDVR’s Arran Andersen tweeted that Gordon had a pad on his right foot (even though it was clearly above the foot) due to a foot contusion.

It turns out that it wasn’t a pad on Gordon’s shin. Instead, it was his cellphone. And he let Andersen know that after the game.

I’ve been wrong about plenty before, so I know exactly how Andersen is feeling after that tweet. Kudos to him, though, for not deleting the tweet. We all make mistakes. And it’s usually best to just own those mistakes.
