The Denver Broncos have a blossoming star on defense. That would be cornerback Pat Surtain II.
However, they have another special talent on that side of the ball as well. Young defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero is orchestrating one of the best units in the league.
Evero is already getting some buzz about a future head coaching position in the NFL.
After the game against the Raiders in Week 11, Evero talked a bit about the performance of his top cornerback.
Ejiro Evero said Pat Surtain didn't play his best game on Sunday against the Raiders, but he has full confidence in him still.— Zac Stevens (@ZacStevensDNVR) November 24, 2022
"He's going to bounce back. He'll be just fine"
The Broncos’ DC is not losing faith in one of his best players on that side of the ball at all. He knows that Surtain II has been a top five CB in the NFL this season.
Plus, he is still a young player. The Broncos’ defensive back is learning and growing every single week still. Sometimes, that comes with growing pains like losing against Davante Adams.
The biggest factor in this situation is now how Surtain II bounces back. There is no doubting his talent or ability. Evero believes in Surtain II, and that should excited Denver fans.
Evero’s work with the Broncos’ defense has been really impressive. Their record may not show it due to offensive struggles, but his unit has been elite all season long.
Look for Denver to keep building on that going forward.
