The Denver Broncos have a highly sought after assistant in their building right now.

Defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero is one of the best young coaches in the entire NFL.

Accordingly, he is getting some interview opportunities from multiple teams across the league.

Evero’s defense was one of the best in the NFL this season. Some would argue that it was the best.

The secondary flourished, and multiple depth pieces took their careers to the next level.

He deserves interviews for a promotion.

The Broncos plan on interviewing him for their vacant head coach spot. That being said, they are expected interview a plethora of candidates, and it could take weeks.

They want to discuss their opening with Sean Payton, but an official interview with him cannot occur until January 17th. That may delay their process just a bit.

Meanwhile, it is possible that 3-4 other teams will interview Evero in the meantime.

If the best opportunity comes along, Evero should definitely take it. The Broncos, however, would be left in the cold when it comes to a defensive coordinator. That search would surely begin soon after hiring a different HC.

Regardless, it will be interesting to see how the Broncos attack this situation.

They don’t want to see Evero go, but they also have to take a hard look at all their options for head coach.
