Josh Johnson dominated. The defense held their own. The Cowboys crumbled. The Denver Broncos took him a win, 17-7, in their first preseason game of this year.

Check out every piece of it below.

The veteran backup QB for the Broncos showed why he has stuck around in the NFL for quite awhile. Johnson made some impressive throws, and he took care of the football. His leadership in the league has been at the forefront throughout his career. He is a great quarterback to have behind Russell Wilson.

The defense shined for Denver, too. The Cowboys couldn’t get much of anything going on offense because of it. Their passing game was very inefficient, and the early deficit forced them to throw the ball a lot in the second half.

There were a lot of good takeaways for the Broncos after Saturday’s performance. They will look to build on it next week against the Bills.
