If you were to place a bet on which NFL head coach will be fired next, betting on Denver Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett would probably not be a bad idea.

Hackett, however, might be safe for the rest of the regular season.

NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport said on Monday during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show that he doesn’t see Hackett getting fired during the season.

“I would be really surprised from what I know now if he was fired during the season,” said Rapoport.

Rapoport is as good as it gets when it comes to NFL insiders, so I trust him on this.

But at the same time, if things continue to get worse and Hackett loses the locker room, there’s a good chance he gets a pink slip before the end of the season.

Of course, even if Hackett does make it until the regular season, it likely won’t take long before he’s relieved of his duties. Remember, he wasn’t hired by the new ownership group and he hasn’t impressed. They’ll likely want to hire their own guy, which means Hackett could be free to head back to Green Bay in 2023.
