All of the attention in the world of sports on Monday night was on Denver Broncos quarterback Russell Wilson.

And that’s certainly understandable.

After all, Wilson getting traded from the Seattle Seahawks to the Broncos and then playing his first game for Denver at Seattle is a dream storyline for the NFL.

The game, however, didn’t turn out to be a dream for Wilson. The Broncos lost 17-16 after some questionable clock management from Denver head coach Nathaniel Hackett.

Lost in the Wilson return to Seattle and the shaky decisions from Hackett was the fact that several other players were included in the trade that sent Wilson to Denver.

Defensive lineman Shelby Harris, who went from Denver to Seattle in the trade, was one of those players.

After the game, Harris, who spent five seasons with the Broncos, was interviewed by NFL Network’s James Palmer.

And Harris had plenty to say.

“Everyone doubted us,” said Harris. “Everyone made this about Russ. We made this about the Seattle Seahawks…nobody expected us to win except us. It’s always going to be us.”

Harris also brought up getting traded from Denver to Seattle.

“That’s what happens when you trade one of your D-linemen to the other team,” said Harris about the Seahawks defensive line making plays. “We sit here and make plays — all of us.”

Harris finished the interview by saying “all I have to say is let’s ride”.

That was an obvious dig at Wilson and the Broncos.

You can’t blame Harris for playing with a chip on your shoulder — getting traded is never easy.

And you can’t blame him for talking a little trash, either. The Seahawks won the game. They get the bragging rights…for now.
