We already know that Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers is a legend — on and off the field.

But he further solidified his status as a legend on Wednesday with the best quote we’ve heard all offseason.

First, a little backstory.

Earlier this week, Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Davante Adams, who was traded by the Packers earlier this offseason, told reporters that he was going from a Hall of Famer in Rodgers to a Hall of Famer in Derek Carr.

As you can imagine, that quote got quite a bit of attention.

On Wednesday at Packers training camp, Rodgers was asked by reporters about adjusting to life without Adams.

That’s when Rodgers, without cracking a smile, told reporters “I mean, it’s always tough going from a Hall of Famer to a Hall of Famer”.

Rodgers was referring to Green Bay wide receiver Allen Lazard.

Here’s a clip of the exchange.

I really hope Rodgers gets into television work after his NFL career is over. His comedic timing is exceptional. And he has great self-awareness when it comes to his media sessions (even if he sometimes makes life tougher on himself). He’d be great calling NFL games on Sundays.

On another note, I can’t wait to see if Adams has a response to Rodgers’ quote. I know Adams and Rodgers still have a great relationship, but I imagine the back-and-forth over the last week has taken at least a small toll on that relationship.
