Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers received one of the best compliments a football player can receive this week.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur praised Rodgers’ toughness this week, calling him “old school tough” for the way he’s played through the thumb injury he suffered earlier this season.

Rodgers confirmed this week that he’s been playing with a broken thumb since the Packers’ loss to the New York Giants in week five.

The future Hall of Famer hasn’t been nearly as effective while playing with a broken thumb. In fact, it’s almost certainly the reason his passes haven’t been nearly as crisp the last few weeks as we’re used to seeing from Rodgers.

Rodgers, however, hasn’t leaned on the thumb as an excuse. He didn’t even want to mention that it was broken (he could’ve easily leaked it to the media at some point).

Folks can say what they want about Rodgers, but they can never question his toughness.
