The Green Bay Packers got some good news ahead of their matchup against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday night.

According to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero, wide receiver Randall Cobb is expected to play for Green Bay on Thursday night.

Cobbs hasn’t played since week six while dealing with an ankle injury.

From NFL.com:

WR Randall Cobb (ankle) is expected to be activated from injured reserve and play versus the Titans, per NFL Network Insider Tom Pelissero. Cobb has not played since Week 6.

Cobb’s injury came at a terrible time. The veteran wide receiver was coming off his best game of the season (seven receptions for 99 yards against the New York Giants) when he injured his ankle in week six against the New York Jets.

I don’t think Cobb is suddenly going to take the Packers’ offense to the next level, but it’s a receiver that Aaron Rodgers knows well. It’s someone he trusts. And that’s been one of the biggest things missing from Green Bay’s offense this season.

So yes, Cobb coming back is absolutely a big deal for the Packers. And it could be the difference in what should be a tight game against the Titans.
