The Green Bay Packers received an unfortunate injury update on Friday afternoon.

Wide receiver Sammy Watkins is out for this weekend’s matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Watkins is dealing with a hamstring injury.

Watkins is the Packers’ leading wide receiver so far this season with six receptions for 111 yards (no player has more than six receptions for Green Bay this season).

With Watkins out, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is expecting rookie Romeo Doubs to take on a bigger load in the offense.

Wide receiver Allen Lazard returned to practice on Friday and he’s considered “good to go” for the game against the Bucs.

Rookie Christian Watson and veteran Randall Cobb are questionable for the game. We should know more on Sunday in regard to their status.
