The Kansas City Chiefs have a few players on their inactive list for the Week 1 matchup with the Arizona Cardinals.

Quarterback Shane Buechele, defensive end Joshua Kaindoh, offensive tackle Darian Kinnard, receiver Daurice Fountain, defensive end Malik Herring, and running back Ronald Jones are all inactive.

The Chiefs already have two quarterbacks in Mahomes and Henne, so it makes sense for Buechele to be inactive. Chiefs’ rookie Kinnard hasn’t been playing well in training camp or preseason, and the players ahead of him have, which is why it’s a logical move to make him inactive.

The Chiefs currently have George Karlaftis, Frank Clark, Carlos Dunlap, and Mike Danna as their defensive ends for the day, so Herring and Kaindoh won’t make an appearance. Jones is the fourth running back on the depth chart. Fountain is behind Smith-Schuster, Valdes-Scantling, Hardman, Watson, and Skyy Moore.

For the Cardinals, they have some surprising names on the list as well.

Cornerback Trayvon Mullen, receiver Rondale Moore, running back Keaontay Ingram, linebacker Myjai Sanders, offensive lineman Justin Pugh, tight end Trey McBride, and defensive lineman J.J. Watt are all inactive for the Cardinals.

Moore has been dealing with a hamstring issue all week, while Watt has been dealing with a calf issue.
