The Kansas City Chiefs are already ahead of the competition. On Sunday we saw that, as they obliterated the Arizona Cardinals. Now, as they approach the short week, we see that they already have one up on the Los Angeles Chargers in a divisional matchup.

On Sunday, the news broke that J.C. Jackson was getting surgery on his ankle, and he could potentially miss Thursday Night Football. Jackson is their best cornerback, and maybe the best in the league.

On Monday, there was news that Chargers receiver Keenan Allen could miss Thursday as well with a Hamstring injury, per Ian Rapoport of NFL.com.

This automatically gives the Chiefs an advantage over the Chargers, as two of their best players are going to miss Thursday’s game.

Yes, the Chiefs have injuries as well, but none nearly as significant as the Chargers.

This game on Thursday is huge for the Chiefs, and the Chargers, for that matter. Whoever wins the game, could have sole possession of the first place in the division if Denver loses on Monday Night Football.

You never want a player to get injured, because that is just wrong. However, you do want your team to take advantage of the disadvantages the other team has. On Thursday, the Chiefs could do just that.
