The Kansas City Chiefs have a guy who is considered a sleeper within the fanbase. He may not be to many people outside Chiefs Kingdom, but he certainly is to everyone who wears the red and gold. Rashad Fenton proved himself last year, as he had his best season yet.

The fourth-year cornerback spent most of the offseason rehabbing his shoulder, which landed him on the PUP list to start camp. Fenton just recently made an appearance at training camp, and from everything we have seen, he looks good.

However, there has been some suspicion about whether or not he has some nagging injuries, and if he will be the same when the season starts.

Chiefs’ Fenton clears the air on Tuesday

On Tuesday, Fenton made sure he cleared up some of the questions about his health and whether he would be fully ready on Week 1.

”I’m back 100%,” Fenton told reporters Tuesday when asked how he was feeling, and if he was getting the rust knocked off.

”I’m back 100%,” Fenton repeated on the next question when asked what exactly his shoulder injury was.

“Man it feels great, I’m not going to lie (on being back on the field with his teammates), the only way to feel the energy of the team is to be out there with them. I’m working with them, going through phases with them. It’s great.”

I think it’s safe to say Fenton is back, 100%.

This team has a lot of young, good players at the cornerback position. Fenton is the oldest guy within the group. The Chiefs will need him come Week 1, to help cut down those rookie mistakes that will be made, because they will happen.

While this will only be his fourth year in the league, Fenton is somewhat a veteran to that position group.

The Chiefs will have one of the better defensive back units in the league within the next few years, and Fenton is a large reason why.
