Football is here, and week one is officially over for the Kansas City Chiefs, and boy should we be glad. The Cleveland Browns gave the Chiefs fits all game, and even looked like they would start to pull away at one point. While the Browns played better on defense than the Chiefs and had a great game offensively, they do not have Patrick Mahomes.

This one was definitely a nasty one, but a win is a win nonetheless. Honestly, it may be good to go ahead and get a win like this one out of the way.

Most teams have games like this throughout the season. The only difference is they are usually on the Brown’s side and do not win a game like this. But then again, most teams do not have Patrick Mahomes.

Patrick Mahomes leads Chiefs back to win week one

The Chiefs struggled all game but in different areas. The Offense was there in the end when it mattered most, but even they struggled at the beginning.

Redzone offense has continued to be a problem for this team, as it was a small issue last season. The Chiefs failed to convert in the red zone a few times, including their first offensive possession, where they kicked a field goal instead.

However, towards the end of the game, none of that mattered. The offense was able to drive the ball down the field, and also finish plays off. A lot of that was due to the Chiefs big three on offense.

Of course, Patrick Mahomes lead the comeback, but the other two superstars did the damage as well. Tyreek Hill finished with nearly 200 yards and had a huge play that broke the game wide open once again.

Travis Kelce found the endzone twice and made sure to shut up the trash talking. Patrick Mahomes, as usual, had his 300 yard game with three touchdowns, and even ran the ball in himself once.

The issues lied within the defense, who also struggled in the red zone. They gave up scores in the area, as well as a two-point conversion to start the game. That is something that cannot happen.

Chris Jones and company had a hard time stopping the run, giving many of us fans a flashback of 2018. With the lethal running attack Cleveland has in Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt, they can be tough to stop. However, they did whatever they wanted for most of the game.

It is good to start the season on a win, and it may be good to get this one out of the way. However, the Chiefs still have a difficult road ahead. Sunday night, Lamar Jackson and company will host the Chiefs.
