The Kansas City Chiefs are looking for any advantage possible over their opponents this year, especially division rivals. So far, they already have one for Thursday, Week 2.

In Week 1, the Chiefs play the Arizona Cardinals. Next week, on Thursday, they play a division rival in the Los Angeles Chargers. Their best cornerback, and maybe the best cornerback in the league in J.C. Jackson, is likely to miss Week 1 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

According to Adam Schefter of ESPN, the Pro Bowl cornerback is likely to miss Sunday’s game due to having surgery on his ankle.

This only helps the Chiefs, as Jackson will have to prepare for the Chiefs on a short week and likely won’t be able to play against Kansas City either on Thursday Night Football.

The Chargers have one of the better starting secondary’s in the NFL. The Chiefs were already going to have to deal with Derwin James. Now they likely won’t have to deal with both James and Jackson.

This is huge for the Chefs, as they have nearly a whole new receiving corps with no more Tyreek Hill. Now, that new receiving corps, likely won’t have to face the best ball hawk in the league.
