The Derek Carr- Las Vegas Raiders situation has been a bit, weird, to say the least. This is a guy who holds a ton of records within the organization, and has been there for what feels like forever, but is going to be in a different uniform next season.
Well, that’s what it feels like. It feels as if his time in the silver and black is done.
There is one notable source that has linked a possible trade for Carr to the Indianapolis Colts, where it seems quarterbacks go to die. A rather odd situation if it were to happen.
According to Sports Illustrated insider Hondo Carpenter, and a report done by Raiders Beat, the Colts are expected to have some interest in Carr. We kind of know this for two reasons. First, they offered a deal for him in the past, and secondly, it seems the Colts have a thing for quarterbacks on their last leg, or things of that nature.
Carr isn’t like the last few guys the Colts have tried to experiment with, as we have seen that he still has some juice, it was just time for something new. Per Carpenter, the Colts previously offered the Raiders two first-round picks for Carr. So, it will be interesting to see what the Raiders could get now, as he definitely isn’t worth two firsts.
Not to mention, the Colts may be starting an entirely new regime that may want to go in a different direction than getting Carr. We truly don’t know. Either way, I’m not sure I would like Carr going to Indianapolis. It would be an odd situation for a guy who still has a lot left.
