The Tennessee Titans haven’t gotten it done in very many “pretty” ways since Derrick Henry went down with his foot injury. It hasn’t mattered that much. They have stayed in contention for both the playoffs and the top seed in the AFC. That’s impressive. The Titans’ offense could get their biggest reinforcement at the best possible time as well.

Derrick Henry

Tom Pelissero mentions that Derrick Henry could return as soon as possibly Week 18 to knock some rust off before the postseason. That’s the best possible scenario for the Titans if he is fully healthy in that return.

You don’t need me to tell you about his impact. Henry changes each and every game for basically every aspect of the Titans’ offense as well as the opponent’s defense. Ryan Tannehill has struggled mightily at some points during this stint without his running back. Not having his usual talent at wide receiver at his disposal due to injuries has not helped, either.

The Titans and Henry have been pretty quiet about his recovery. That is to be expected, but the reports that have come out have been positive about his timetable. Add this one as another good sign for the Titans and their fans.

A.J. Brown

Everyone saw this past week what the return of A.J. Brown did for the passing offense of the Titans. He had eleven catches for 145 yards and a touchdown. That was with Julio Jones active, too.

If both of those guys begin to heat up as the team enters the playoffs, both the passing and running games will get boosts. Todd Downing has gotten flak over the past handful of weeks, but his job gets much simpler when you add some of the best offensive skill position players in the NFL back into the mix.

Regardless, the Titans should not rush Henry back into the fold. They took their time with Brown after his last injury, and it looks to be paying off so far. The star RB had a serious foot injury, so being cautious makes the most sense. It sounds like Mike Vrabel and company will get him back sooner than later, nonetheless.
