Zach Cunningham has made highlight plays all season long for the Commodores. He leads the SEC in total tackles. The junior linebacker has already been noticed for national player of the week awards, and now his NFL future looks bright. Pro Football Focus has listed Cunningham as a first round draft prospect on their updated “big board“.
PFF on Zach Cunningham
21. Zach Cunningham, LB, Vanderbilt
The nation is starting to hear Cunningham’s name on a weekly basis, whether it’s his game-ending play against Georgia or his blocked kick against Auburn. Cunningham is strong in the run game, attacking and shedding blocks as well as any linebacker in the country and he now ranks second in the Power-5 with 50 stops. He brings athleticism to coverage as well, and we just need to see Cunningham cut down on the missed tackles (25 over the last two years) to take the next step in his game.

Cunningham has wow’d everyone this season from coaches, scouts, fans… He’s been impressive. Coach Derek Mason is proud of his stud linebacker and has said he’s one of the best college football players in the country. Zach Cunningham has it all. He has the size, smarts and athletic ability to become one of the best football players Vanderbilt has ever produced.
