It’s rare that Dennis Allen has had anything good to say this season for the New Orleans Saints.

But after Thursday’s media availability, he had some good news regarding Saints’ veteran wide receiver Jarvis Landry.

“It’s all part of the progression,” Allen said. “[Landry] got back out there today, he got some limited reps today, so that was good to see. We’re going to keep working with him and see where he’s at as we get closer to the end of the week.”

Though in a limited role, Landry made his return to practice in a very limited role. He hasn’t played since Week 4.

Saints fans can at least breathe a sigh of relief. With the devastating news that star wide receiver Michael Thomas is most likely going to miss the rest of the season, New Orleans needs all the help it can get.

Getting Landry back will be part of that.

The last time Landry played, he recorded two receptions for seven yards before leaving the game with an injury.

Landry’s best game of the season came on Sept. 11, where he recorded nine receptions for 114 yards against the Atlanta Falcons.

In total this season, Landry has 168 yards on 15 catches in four games played.

If the Saints can get him back soon, they may have a real shot in the wide-open NFC South.
