The New Orleans Saints are making a bit of a heartwarming move. They are signing defensive back Tre Swilling, son of former Saints’ linebacker Pat Swilling. Swilling will join the Saints’ practice squad.

Pat Swilling is one of the greatest defenders in New Orleans Saints franchise history. He played 107 games for the team, recording 354 tackles and 76.5 sacks. He also forced 24 fumbles and had 3 interceptions with New Orleans.

For Tre Swilling, it is an opportunity to become a depth piece for New Orleans. The secondary could use more talent at defensive back.

Signing the son of a former franchise legend could be a really exciting move for the Saints.
