Injuries punched the New Orleans Saints all season long in 2022.
Even in a meaningless matchup in Week 18, they suffered a massive loss.
Rookie offensive tackle Trevor Penning suffered another injury. He missed much of the season due to a foot/toe injury. Now, his other foot has taken a blow.
Penning suffered a Lisfranc injury on his right foot and will need surgery during the off-season.

Source says Trevor Penning’s recovery will likely take 5-6 months. Back around June. Not ideal but possible he doesn’t miss all of the offseason program.

Penning was coming along slowly but surely for the Saints in the second half of the season.
He began his comeback by just playing in jumbo sets. In the final couple weeks of the season, Penning got more consistent playing time. He performed pretty well in his limited time as a starter.
You can tell that Penning plays with plenty of emotion. Against Carolina, he had a couple of rookie slip-ups, but overall, he did a nice job on a make-shift offensive line for the Saints.
It will be a long road to return for the young offensive lineman.
