The New Orleans Saints have gotten exactly what they expected from rookie wideout Chris Olave. Honestly, they may have already gotten more than what they thought they would early on in the season.

Accordingly, sports books are noticing. Olave has been climbing the odds for rookie of the year for the past three weeks now.

Olave’s talent is undeniable, and his role in the Saints’ offense gives him a solid chance to win the award.

If Andy Dalton continues to start over there next couple of weeks or beyond, his air yards will decrease. Dalton does not push the ball downfield as often as QB Jameis Winston.

He did connect with Olave on a deep throw for the Saints late in the game versus Minnesota, though.

That being said, the offense will still get him plenty involved. They know that he is electric with the ball in his hands.

If Winston returns fully healthy, expect plenty of deep shots from him to Olave. The Saints know that they can take risks downfield to the rookie, and they can pay off.
