There aren’t many truly aggressive rivalries in today’s NFL. Don’t tell Saints’ CB Marshon Lattimore and Bucs’ WR Mike Evans that, though.
Their matchup is always sure to bring some fireworks.
That being said, Lattimore dominates it from a production standpoint. Evans consistently struggles when shadowed by Lattimore against the Saints.
His stat lines against New Orleans say it all.
Mike Evans in 11 career matchups against Marshon Lattimore:
— Ian Hartitz (@Ihartitz) November 30, 2022
7-147-1
…
5-55-0
4-86-0
4-64-0
3-61-0 (ejected)
2-48-1
1-14-0 (injured after just 17 snaps)
1-13-0
1-3-1
1-2-1
0-0-0
Therefore, the matchup this weekend will be really important.
The Bucs are in first in the NFC South. With a win, the Saints would be just a half of a game behind them for the top spot in the division.
Lattimore has not played since early October. There could be some rust if he returns this week, but that is chance that he and the Saints may be willing to make.
He surely wants any opportunity to dominate against Evans.

Fights like this one aren’t new for the matchup of Lattimore and Evans.
A Saints-Bucs game with both involved almost always has some sort of extracurricular activities. There have been three different major fights stemming from them in some way.
It is pretty wild in the modern NFL, but it is definitely entertaining.
Lattimore’s status will be really important for the Saints and their fans this week. Keep an eye on it.
