While the New Orleans Saints are 2-5 right now, they still have a chance to win the division. I know, it sounds crazy. They are only half a game back of the first-place spot in the NFC South, even after losing almost everyone to injury, it feels like anyways.

During these trying times, there has been one positive, though. Well, there has been more.

then one, but, in my opinion, none bigger than what rookie receiver Chris Olave has done in just seven short weeks.

He is catching everyone’s attention, and he isn’t even done growing as a player yet. In fact, from Week 1 to now, he has already learned so much. Saints’ quarterback Andy Dalton broke down exactly what it is that Olave has improved since being in the league.

“He’s playing with a lot of confidence, and he knows what he can do,” Dalton said to the media on Thursday. “He knows what we are expecting of him and what he is expecting of himself. I think the confidence is the big thing. You can see it, that he wants to help this team win. He wants to do everything he can to help our offense be the best it can be. So, for him, I feel like it is really him being comfortable with everything we are asking him to do.”

The Saints clearly have themselves a special player. Not only has he been the Saints’ best receiver, in my opinion, but he has also been the most consistent. Oh, and did I mention he is just a rookie and it is only Week 8 coming up this Sunday?

Olave has a chance to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year award at the end of the year if he continues doing what he is doing. And, imagine when everyone is fully healthy. This has to be the best receiving trio in the league when that happens, because of Olave.
