The New Orleans Saints have had a ton of ebbs and flows throughout this 2022 NFL season. However, most of it has been on the downside, as the season hasn’t gone quite like anyone had planned, or thought it would go.

The Saints’ problems are far past fixing during this season, though. These problems are going to have to be fixed in the offseason, or throughout next season, because they definitely won’t happen overnight, or week by week for that matter.

It’s hard to fix when you continuously do the same thing, too. There is no real way to stick up for this team and anything they have going on. However, some of the players seem to feel like they can still turn it around.

“We have the right people in this locker room,” Andy Dalton said. “We’ve got the right people on this team and in this organization.

“The only way we can do it is we have to stick together and understand what we have to do. Everybody needs to look at themselves and what can I do better. If we do that, we will get this thing turned around.”

Now that statement may trigger some of your fans, and I would understand why. There are a few reasons, though.

First, I don’t think anyone agrees that they have the right people in the organization. I think most of the fans and probably some of the players would agree that Dennis Allen may not be the right man for the job.

But then again, I don’t expect to hear Dalton call out his head coach.

Second, the team may not have the right people in the locker room either. Well, it’s not so much that it is the right people playing. Dalton is one of the guys that a ton of fans feel like shouldn’t be the starting quarterback.

And lastly, I don’t think anyone agrees that what Dalton said is all they have to do to turn around their season. I don’t think there is a way to necessarily turn the season around, and I definitely don’t think it’s by way of looking in the mirror.

This team’s issues are far bigger than we would have ever expected. Changes need to be made, so why not start early and go ahead and make them?
