The New Orleans Saints recently locked up their young stud center Erik McCoy to a five-year extension. The deal is worth up to $63.75 million and includes up to $40 million in guaranteed money.

McCoy is going into his fourth year and will be on the Saints for at least five more. Last season he allowed zero sacks and two quarterback hits. He did, however, allow just seven quarterback pressures in 746 snaps.

This deal makes McCoy one of the op-five highest-paid centers in the league. He is part of an offensive line that is one of the best in the NFL in large part to him holding it down in the middle of the line.

According to Pro Football Focus, McCoy finished 2021 with a pass blocking grade of 69.2 and a run-block grade of 66.4.

At just 25 years old, McCoy is only getting better, and that is a big reason the Saints paid the man.
