The Philadelphia Eagles just got some of the best news they could have on Monday morning before their Monday Night Football showdown against their division foe the Washington Commanders.
Some of you may remember a few years ago when the Commanders, who were named something else at the time, drafted Chase Young, who is a stud defensive lineman.
Some of you may also remember that Young tore his ACL last season, and missed the second half of the season. He played 15 games his first season and nine last season.
In two years and 24 games, Young has nine sacks and has looked absolutely dominant at times.
The good news is not that Young is injured, because we don’t wish ill will or injuries upon other teams or players. However, the good news is that he was not activated from the injured reserve list for the Monday Night Football game against the Eagles.
The #Commanders are not activating star pass-rusher Chase Young off IR for tonight's game against the #Eagles, source said. Young, coming back from an ACL tear, is close to being ready and there is a real chance he makes his debut next week if all goes well at practice this week.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) November 14, 2022
Instead, it is likely that he will be activated next week, according to Ian Rapoport.
This is huge for the Eagles, who already have to face a dominant pass rush by the Commanders, and that is without Young. Adding him to the mix would not be easy for the Eagles offensive line to block.
