The Philadelphia Eagles had one heck of a 2022 draft class. I mean, just look at some of the names and where they were drafted. Not only is this franchise competing for a championship this season, but could also be competing for years to come due to the draft success.
One of those rookies didn’t get drafted where he maybe should have because of how successful his college career was. Then, on top of that, he didn’t have the start to his NFL career that he maybe hoped for.
But, as of late, he is showing that there is potential for him to be one of the bigger steals of the 2022 NFL draft. Nakobe Dean, the linebacker out of Georgia, is doing everything he can to show that the Eagles made the right decision.
“I expect Nakobe to go in there and play well. …He’s been doing his job,” defensive coordinator Jonathan Gannon said.
“He’s been improving his game. He hustles. He practices his tail off. He went in there and it was good to see him get some snaps and hit the ball a couple of times.”
Dean was one of the best players on the Georgia Bulldogs, who won the National Championship last season with him leading the defense. He went into the draft as a guy who could easily go in the first round, but because of an injury issue, was able to fall to the Eagles in the third round.
Let’s also throw it out there that Dean will be learning from some great linebackers and EDGE guys in front of him. Brandon Graham, T.J. Edwards, Haason Reddick, and Kyzir White will all help this guy be what he needs to be and some.
His play is starting to show that maybe the Eagles made the right investment in the 2022 draft. Dean could end up being one of the biggest steals from his class when it’s all said and done.
