Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts had himself a night against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday Night Football.
Hurts passed for 333 yards and a touchdown while adding 57 rushing yards and two touchdowns in the Eagles’ 24-7 win against the Vikings.
Philly is now 2-0 and tied for first place in the NFC East with the New York Giants.
One of the most memorable plays of the night from Hurts was his impressive touchdown run in the second quarter.
That shouldn’t have been a touchdown. But Hurts would not be denied. Despite being surrounded by Vikings jerseys, Hurts found a way to get into the end zone. That’s nothing more than sheer willpower.
Eagles wide receiver Zach Pascal was especially impressed by the touchdown run from Hurts.
“What’s my favorite play? The touchdown run. ‘Cuz, he did that s— like a gangster,” said Pascal (via The Athletic). “He went around and then he lowered his shoulder and broke a tackle and they felt it like a running back. That was tough. That was smooth.”
I don’t think anyone could describe Hurt’s unbelievable touchdown run any better. It truly was some gangster s—.
There were plenty of analysts during the draft process that felt like Hurts was a major reach in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft.
My favorite Hurts narrative from MacDougall is that the Eagles will trade him for a high draft pick at some point.— Josh Innes (@JoshInnesShow) April 26, 2020
That’s right, the Eagles reached for a guy that no one was taking that high so they can turn around and trade him to teams that all had an opportunity to get him
But he’s showing everyone that he should’ve been a first-round pick (I bet the Green Bay Packers are really regretting that Jordan Love pick these days).
