While everyone is watching the Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, and the Buffalo Bills in the Odell Beckham Jr sweepstakes, it could actually be the Philadelphia Eagles that end up landing the star wide receiver.

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio suggested on Wednesday morning that the Eagles are a team to watch for Beckham.

Florio mentioned the Los Angeles Rams as an option for OBJ last year before Beckham eventually landed in LA.

Signing OBJ would make sense for the Eagles for a couple of reasons.

For starters, Quez Watkins injured his shoulder in Philly’s win against the Tennessee Titans this past weekend. He’s not expected to miss significant time, but he’s still banged up as the Eagles enter the home stretch of the season. OBJ would provide some insurance.

Perhaps the biggest reason that Philly could sign OBJ is because it would keep him away from two division rivals — the Cowboys and the Giants.

Philly is in control in the NFC East, but the Cowboys are doing their best to make a run at the division title. Keeping OBJ out of Dallas would certainly be beneficial to the Eagles.

OBJ, by the way, might not be ready to play until mid-January — so I’m not sure how helpful he’ll be for any NFL franchise. Philadelphia, however, could still look to block him from signing elsewhere.
