The Philadelphia Eagles’ next postseason matchup is officially set.

They will take on the San Francisco 49ers in a highly-anticipated matchup of the top two seeds in the NFC. They were the two most dominant teams in the regular season in the conference.

Now, they’ll get to battle it out for a spot in the Super Bowl. early on, it looks like sports books are rolling with the top-ranked team from the regular season.

The Eagles are the current favorite across a few platforms. They opened as a two-point favorite, but it has already grown to 2.5 so far.

It makes plenty of sense. Philadelphia easily dispatched the New York Giants in the divisional round.

The Giants probably weren’t as good as the Dallas Cowboys, who the 49ers narrowly beat, but their victory was still more impressive.

Not to mention, the Eagles are the top seed, so the respect is necessary. They’ve earned it this season. Their impressive running game has rarely been slowed down, and Jalen Hurts has played like an MVP candidate when healthy.

Their defense is possibly the most well-balanced unit in the NFL. The 49ers are the only unit remaining in the postseason that really comes close.

Accordingly, this matchup could get really interesting. Both defenses have excelled so far in the playoffs. Their performances in the regular season were awesome as well.

Could it be a low-scoring affair? That is definitely possible.

On the flip-side, the two clubs boast really innovative play-callers. That means the they’ll be pulling out all of the stops to get scores throughout the game.

The Eagles need to get going early on offense and avoid an early deficit. Once the 49ers get a lead, their offensive rushing attack and defensive pass rush can make a comeback very difficult.

Regardless, the Eagles are getting a narrow edge from the betting lines so far.
