The Philadelphia Eagles have made some splashes during this off-season. It is clear that they believe that they can contend for the NFC East crown. Sam Monson from Pro Football Focus has a lot of faith in Philadelphia, too.

A.J.
Brown can be transformative for an offense that
was without a true alpha at the position. Jalen
Hurts improved last year but still has some
room to go to be an elite quarterback, which
Brown should help with. Their offensive line is
an outstanding unit, and the team added
potential game-changers on defense. The
Eagles have been building well over recent
seasons, so this could be their year to take the
division and make some noise in the playoffs.

Monson makes plenty of good points. A.J. Brown provides the Eagles with a weapon on the outside that they haven’t had for years. Not to mention, the addition of defenders like James Bradberry and Nakobe Dean will improve the lack of depth on defense. The Eagles desperately needed another cornerback and linebacker, and they addressed those needs.

The offensive line, while aging, is still impressive. Landon Dickerson and Jordan Mailata are a couple of OL that the Eagles believe they can build around for years to come as well. They have a top eight tight end in Dallas Goedert. Running backs Miles Sanders and Kenneth Gainwell could provide an exciting 1-2 punch in the Eagles’ backfield.

That being said, there is a lot of pressure on Eagles QB Jalen Hurts. He must continue to develop, especially in the passing game. We all know the special athlete and leader he is, but the Eagles need more consistency from him through the air.

There is a lot to like about this Eagles roster headed into 2022, and Monson from PFF believes that they could win their division and snag a playoff berth in the NFC.
