The Pittsburgh Steelers have to deal with some troubling news before their huge early-season AFC North test against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday.

Safety, Damontae Kazee, who signed a one-year deal with the Steelers back in March, has been suspended for three games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Kazee is currently on injured reserve due to a wrist/arm setback he suffered in the Steelers’ preseason finale against the Detroit Lions meaning he was going to miss to first four games regardless. However, it appears that Kazee wasn’t going to be ready after Week 4 so he will likely serve his suspension while he’s on injured reserve.

In the end, this doesn’t affect the Steelers the way most suspensions do. Kazee’s situation is still an annoyance though, and something the Steelers, or any team, wouldn’t want to deal with as they prepare for a division rival.
