The Pittsburgh Steelers will have a big advantage over the rest of the NFL in 2022 when it comes to scheduling.
Next Thursday night, the NFL will reveal the 2022 schedule. We already know who the Steelers will play next season, but this will let us know when those games will take place.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter revealed an interesting piece of information on Friday in regards to Pittsburgh’s 2022 schedule.
According to Schefter, the Steelers will travel the fewest miles of any NFL team in 2022.
Pittsburgh will also stay in the Eastern Time Zone all season.

There are only two teams on the Steelers’ schedule from outside the Eastern Time Zone — the New Orleans Saints and the Las Vegas Raiders. Both of those games will take place in Pittsburgh.
I think a lot of folks overlook the difficulties of travel and changing time zones. Heading out west to play a game at what feels like 10 AM in the morning isn’t easy when dealing with jetlag.
In general, traveling back and forth across the country simply isn’t ideal.
Sure, these are professional athletes who are prepared to play in adverse situations. But time changes and excessive travel still take a toll on the human body.
Fortunately for the Steelers, their travel schedule will be favorable in 2022, which should translate to better showings from players on Sundays.
There’s a lot more that goes into winning a football game beyond what we see once a week for three hours. Outside factors matter. And this is an outside factor that will help the Steelers win games.
