The Pittsburgh Steelers will play against the New England Patriots with just two quarterbacks active.

For the second straight week, quarterback Mason Rudolph is listed as inactive.

Rudolph has the second most starting experience of any quarterback on the Steelers’ roster (10 career starts with a 5-4-1 record).

But despite Rudolph’s experience — and the fact that the coaching staff is a fan of him — it appears that Pittsburgh is committed to rolling with Kenny Pickett as their No. 2 quarterback.

This seemingly confirms that Rudolph’s time with the Steelers is coming to an end.

Pittsburgh is unlikely to release Rudolph — they’re not in a position where they need to cut him — but I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s traded before the midway point of the season.
