PITTSBURGH – A lot of people think the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to take a quarterback in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

We can now include Las Vegas in on that thought process.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Steelers are now the betting favorites at (+250) to land Liberty quarterback Malik Willis. Willis is considered by many to be the No. 1 quarterback prospect in the draft.

It’s an interesting play, because the Steelers passed both the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints (+350) in order to become the favorites. Both of those teams are thought to be in the quarterback race (although New Orleans has a promising player in Jameis Winston) and both teams pick before the Steelers. Carolina picks sixth overall and New Orleans has two first-rounders at Nos. 16 and 19.

If both teams are truly in the market for a quarterback, then one can assume Willis will be gone by the time the Steelers pick at 20. But, that doesn’t mean the Steelers will stay put at 20. They could easily finagle their way up the draft board in order to get Willis, if they want.

The Steelers wrapped up a top-30 visit with Willis on Wednesday, so the new odds could be a direct result of that. But at the same time, the Steelers have shown interest in Willis throughout the draft process.

Either way, we’ll know for sure what happens next Thursday.
