Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin dropped a quote this week that fans will absolutely never forget.

Tomlin was asked this week about undrafted free agent running back Jaylen Warren, who signed with the Steelers after the 2022 NFL Draft.

Warren, who spent time at Snow College, Utah State, and Oklahoma State, made his debut in Pittsburgh’s season-opening win against the Cincinnati Bengals this past weekend.

The North Carolina native rushed for seven yards on three carries and was targeted once in the passing game.

Those obviously aren’t impressive numbers, but the fact that an undrafted free agent was active for the first game of the season shows how much trust the Steelers have in Warren.

When Tomlin was asked about how Warren looked, he responded with an all-time quote.

“He didn’t urinate down his leg and that’s a great place to begin,” said Tomlin, drawing laughter from the reporters in the room.

While the quote was funny, Tomlin had a reason for saying it. Rookies can often look overwhelmed in their first NFL action. But Warren looked poised and ready to contribute.

The numbers weren’t great, but Warren showed Pittsburgh’s coaches he can be an asset in 2022 and beyond.
