ESPN’s Adam Schefter gave Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans some good news on Sunday morning.

Star wide receiver Chris Godwin is expected to play on Sunday night in the season-opener against the Dallas Cowboys.

While Godwin will play, he’s expected to be on a snap count according to Schefter.

Godwin has been recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered last December in a loss to the New Orleans Saints.

The former Penn State standout missed practice on Thursday, leading to some fear that he could miss the matchup against the Cowboys.

Fortunately for the Buccaneers, it appears that Tom Brady will have one of his top targets on Sunday night.

Godwin, who signed a three-year extension with the Bucs this offseason, is coming off the second-best season of his career after catching 98 passes for 1,103 yards and five touchdowns in 14 games last year.

Buccaneers fans will likely be holding their breath every time Godwin is tackled on Sunday night. But at least he’ll be back on the field and ready to contribute for Tampa Bay.
